The old adage is "April showers bring May flowers." Well, what happens when April brings snow? Weather reports show that the greater Big Hook area has received several snow flurries over the past couple of days. Not to worry though as a warming trend is on the way to do battle with the snow and ice on the lakes.
All of us at Big Hook are keeping a close eye on the current conditions in the north and have our fingers crossed for an early ice out and a smooth opening.

Google Earth
Many people are familiar with Google and all of its enormous success. One of their informative and addicting FREE programs is Google Earth (google.earth.com). This downloadable program gives you a true bird's eye view of the world as we know it. Google Earth also allows users to submit pictures and video's for all of the world to see.
Why am I mentioning this unique program? Many people, including myself, utilize Google Earth to research their favorite fishing spots and familiarize themselves with new bodies of water. With this application you can show your best buds where exactly you caught 100 walleye's in a ten minutes (OK that may be an exageration, but we all know how fishing tales grow).
Also, those of you with this program may have found Big Hook pictures I have posted throughout the Opasquia Provincial Park. If anyone has any photo's of the greater Big Hook area and would like to have them posted to Google Earth, please email us at bhwc@aol.com

March Madness
March Madness begun! The field of 65 teams is set and are ready to compete for the NCAA championship. If you would like to participate in the Big Hook NCAA Tourney Pick'em and have not received an invite, please email us bhwc@aol.com. March Madness Contest
March Madness will soon be upon us. In a couple of weeks 64 college basketball teams will battle for the right to be called NCAA Champion. Like last year, Big Hook will be having the March Madness pick'em challenge. Look for an email from Big Hook Camps in the coming weeks to participate to win some excellent prizes.
